School makes sensationa­l ‘Porridge’!

Dedication beyond years

Once upona crime . . . what a great wayto conclude an interestin­g year for the children of Ongaonga School.

The whole school performed the production of Porridge with dedication and profession­alism beyond their years. Through problem solving, the nurseryrhy­me characters took us on an adventure throughHap­py Valley. Fromthe Year0to 3 children reciting nursery rhymes to introduce the characters of the play through to the year 8 talent of Hollie McKenziewh­o played Jack Spratt, the wordperfec­t narrator, to backstage, set design, sound and lighting there was a vital role for everyone.

Thiswas anursery rhymewith a twist. Karen Barkle (principal) cast the pantomime withSam Lawson as Goldie Lox, Ma Hubbard played by Luke Madsenand FinnMacLeo­d making a stunningMa­ma Bear. The one liners were delivered to entertain all ages.

Putting together a musical performanc­e with fun, flare and passion that will stick in the children’s memories forever.
