The Can­ter­bury District Health Board will spend more than $150 mil­lion on men­tal health ser­vices this year – up $26m com­pared to eight years ago. Ilam Na­tional Party in­cum­bent Gerry Brown­lee said this fig­ure took into ac­count the ma­jor toll on Cantabri­ans of the 2010 and 2011 earth­quakes which brought a higher de­mand for men­tal health ser­vices.
