Marines @ Mahia
25th-28th October 2013 The New Zealand Military Vehicle Collectors Club is organising ‘Marines @ Mahia’. This is to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the US Marines landing on the beach at Mahia, Hawkes Bay. The Marines carried out their practise landings in their island hopping campaign across the Pacific to fight the Japanese. Sadly most of them lost their lives. There will be a plaque for the US Ambassador to unveil along with military parades, vehicle displays and rides. There will also be an area for American cars to park to be displayed. The organisers would like to invite you to attend, so for more information check out the flyer on the Americarna website, www. americarna.com/News/Marines-@Mahia.
