Crabs king hit­ter cracks big cen­tury

A maiden cen­tury by Jer­rym Frost helped the Mil­ton King Crabs an­ni­hi­late the Owaka Ban­dits in their game, played at the Sheep Pen in Owaka.

Mil­ton bat­ted first and lost their first and only wicket when the score was at 56.

Frost and Ben Cameron pro­ceeded to bully the Ban­dits bowlers around the field.

They were a re­spectable 80/1 at drinks.

Frost brought up his cen­tury in the 32nd over.

He hit four 4s and a mas­sive 10 sixes in his in­nings of 129 not out.

Ben Cameron fin­ished up on 55 not out as the King Crabs cruised to a mega 246/1 off their 40 overs.

Jeremy Gray took the only wicket and re­turned fig­ures of 1-39 0ff 8.

They were skit­tled for 66 runs in the 31st over, hand­ing Mil­ton the bonus point win.

Tony Miller top scored for Owaka with 23 runs.

Dy­lan Greer took 3-4 off four overs for Mil­ton.

The Wai­hola Swans piled more mis­ery onto the Val­ley Stingers in their game which was played at the Crab Grounds in Mil­ton.

Val­ley bat­ted first and man­aged 173 all out in the 39th over.

Be­van McCall top-scored for the Stingers with 39. Si­mon Smaill had the best bowl­ing fig­ures for the Swans with 3-24 off 7 overs.

The Stingers made the Swans work for their win as the score was chased down in the penul­ti­mate over.

Tim Grant top-scored for the Swans with 37.

Jordie Bun­gard blasted his way back into form with 27.

Mike John­ston had the best bowl­ing fig­ures for Val­ley. He took 2-24 off his 8 overs.

Be­van McCall capped his day off with 2-10 off 6.

Val­ley are still with­out a win in the 40 over for­mat.

The Kai Kings eas­ily ac­counted for the Clutha Comets in the match played at the Cos­mic Bull­ring in Bal­clutha.

The Kings bat­ted first and scored 265/4 off their 40 overs. Open­ing bats­man Tony Phillips top-scored with 70.

Mor­gan Lind­say was the pick of the Comets bowlers tak­ing fig­ures of 3-28 off 5 overs.

Clutha bowled an un­for­giv­able 43 ex­tras in the in­nings. In re­ply, the Comets were bowled out for 151 in the 31st over.

Jack Ritchie top-scored for them with a nice knock of 51. Marc Phillips took 3-31 for the Kings.
