Crabs king hitter cracks big century
A maiden century by Jerrym Frost helped the Milton King Crabs annihilate the Owaka Bandits in their game, played at the Sheep Pen in Owaka.
Milton batted first and lost their first and only wicket when the score was at 56.
Frost and Ben Cameron proceeded to bully the Bandits bowlers around the field.
They were a respectable 80/1 at drinks.
Frost brought up his century in the 32nd over.
He hit four 4s and a massive 10 sixes in his innings of 129 not out.
Ben Cameron finished up on 55 not out as the King Crabs cruised to a mega 246/1 off their 40 overs.
Jeremy Gray took the only wicket and returned figures of 1-39 0ff 8.
They were skittled for 66 runs in the 31st over, handing Milton the bonus point win.
Tony Miller top scored for Owaka with 23 runs.
Dylan Greer took 3-4 off four overs for Milton.
The Waihola Swans piled more misery onto the Valley Stingers in their game which was played at the Crab Grounds in Milton.
Valley batted first and managed 173 all out in the 39th over.
Bevan McCall top-scored for the Stingers with 39. Simon Smaill had the best bowling figures for the Swans with 3-24 off 7 overs.
The Stingers made the Swans work for their win as the score was chased down in the penultimate over.
Tim Grant top-scored for the Swans with 37.
Jordie Bungard blasted his way back into form with 27.
Mike Johnston had the best bowling figures for Valley. He took 2-24 off his 8 overs.
Bevan McCall capped his day off with 2-10 off 6.
Valley are still without a win in the 40 over format.
The Kai Kings easily accounted for the Clutha Comets in the match played at the Cosmic Bullring in Balclutha.
The Kings batted first and scored 265/4 off their 40 overs. Opening batsman Tony Phillips top-scored with 70.
Morgan Lindsay was the pick of the Comets bowlers taking figures of 3-28 off 5 overs.
Clutha bowled an unforgivable 43 extras in the innings. In reply, the Comets were bowled out for 151 in the 31st over.
Jack Ritchie top-scored for them with a nice knock of 51. Marc Phillips took 3-31 for the Kings.
