Expo a roaring success
Milton’s inaugural Cosy Homes Expo has been dubbed a ‘‘roaring success’’ by organisers, after more than 90 people attended late last month.
Now event convener and Cosy Homes Trust project manager Jordana Whyte wants to keep the momentum going for Milton locals wishing to improve their living conditions.
The event had highlighted a genuine need in the community for those eager to access subsidies towards home insulation and heating.
‘‘Inspired by the Otago Regional Council airshed programme, we’ve brought together a wide range of funding and service providers giving local householders several options to improve their domestic heating and insulation at subsidised or low cost.
‘‘If anybody missed the launch expo last month, but still wants to find out what help is available to them, they can either drop by during open office hours later this month, or give us a call at any time.’’
Although Milton had been targeted for the programme, other south Otago residents could also access many of the subsidies.
‘‘People are often surprised to learn how many different programmes are in place to help with this issue.‘‘
