Re your front page story, (Sept 14): Are we a caring town?
On Friday Sept 15 I had a blow-out on my mobility scooter. I had shopping on board and was deciding what to do.
A lady stopped within minutes along with her friend and her son.
Tracey took control of the situation by taking my shopping into her car and then Lynn helped me into her car while her son and Tracey pushed my scooter up to The Garage where Ben said I could leave it there till Monday when he would fix it.
I am defending all the caring people who I have been in contact with since I came here to live 21⁄2 years ago.
I cannot believe the kindness and friendliness from our “Angels” in Whangamata.
I truly feel for Dana but all she had to do was call out two words — Help Me!
I know the women of our village would have helped her if she had asked so I don’t want this incident to reflect on our Angels and our men and young people who live here.
