Whangamata RSA Sept 20: Twelve players enjoyed the afternoon with Des Flynn being the top player and Maureen Kingham taking home the chocolate bar. Coral Mackwood won the Meat at the Beach Raffle. New players always welcome on Wednesdays from 12.30pm – play starts at 1pm.

Sat 23-Sun 24 Sept: Waihi Club's (now annual) B Grade Tournament had eight entries from Rotorua, Hamilton and Waihi, plus two Wgm players, Anne Harris and Chris Conroy. A very pleasant full-on weekend; each playing three x 2.5 hour games on Sat and two more on Sunday. Then to cap it off on Sat evenng the Waihi Club put on a delicious dinner at their Clubrooms. No prizes won by the Whanga people, but a most enjoyable couple of days.

The season is drawing to a close prior to the AGM on October 9 with a 6.30 pm start. Whangamata Club Sept 20: Eight players enjoyed a game of 2-2-2. It's a great way to learn the game. Sept 22: Excellent turnout of 36 players who had an awesome afternoon playing bowls with lots of laughter. We welcomed new player Kristine Caird who improved her game in one afternoon. Whangamata Club Sept 19: Winner with 4 wins was George with 253 points. Runner-up with 4 wins was Jim with 229 points. Highest Break was Cary with a break of 25. Raffles were won by Gavin No 15 and Gavin again No 17. Whangamata RSA Sept 21: Top player of the evening was Scotty Ryan with 4 wins and 293 points followed by Stephen Hinton also with 4 wins and 287 points. Scotty also had the High Break with 25 Points. Chris won the Meat at the Beach Sponsor's Prize. The raffle was won by Chips.

Sept 20: Despite complaining of an injury(!) Brian Ford reigned supreme over Zane Scott this week. To keep the peace, Gail Gilbertson and Lorna Judd tied for third and were desperate to get their names in. We play 12.50pm at the Whangamata Club every Wednesday for fun games. All welcome.
