Cuisine - Good Food Guide - - Wellington -

Housed in a quirky space formerly home to the Wholesale Boot Company, with large windows that beam in warm, natural light, WBC is an inviting proposition at any time of the day. Chef and co-owner Tom Hutchison’s menu takes influences from around the world, such as in a bold, sour, light and creamy Goan raw fish curry, or an Argentineleaning tender beef shoulder fillet, served with chimichurri rojo, quinoa and roast parsnip. Honey from the rooftop hives features in daily specials like a delicious honey and chocolate truffle. The menu encourages you to experiment with a range of interesting and well-chosen wines, most available by the glass. The staff know their menu well and talk enthusiastically about the food and drink options, including a range of beers, sake and whisky. 1st Floor, 107 Victoria St, City, ph: 04-499 9379, wbcrestaurant.co.nz Lunch Mon-fri, dinner 7 days; large plates $28.50-$32 IN BRIEF Casual vibes and flavoursome food
