Good Food Guide - - Canterbury -

With floor-to-ceiling glass, wooden floors, black tiles and a mix of seating styles, this casual all-day eatery on busy Lincoln Rd has a pleasing, contemporary buzz about it. There is a sharing bent to the menu, an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and an artisanal, authentic edge to the cooking and presentation of the dishes, which riff on both Mediterranean and Asian themes. Beef bolognese arancini are delicious, their rich, unctuous core of meaty sauce surrounded by flavourful rice, then encased in a perfectly crisp crumb and served in a beautifully balanced tomato sauce. And tender Cressy Farm pork belly with housemade kimchi puree, creamy tofu, crunchy peanuts and crisp pak choi is a lovely melange of Asian flavours and interesting textures. Staff are friendly, and happy to help you with the small, locally focused wine list. 335 Lincoln Rd, Addington, ph: 03-338 1150, town Breakfast & lunch 7 days, dinner Tues-sat; larger share plates $34.50-$38.50
