OR­PHAN BLACK COCK­TAIL

MAKES 1 AF­TER-DIN­NER DRINK AND 125ML OR­ANGE SYRUP

If you’re won­der­ing about the name, it’s in­spired by the ex­cel­lent sci-fi TV show Or­phan Black. 1 large or­ange ¼ cup su­gar 30ml spiced rum 15ml Coin­treau 45ml cold brew cof­fee Peel the zest off the or­ange with a vege peeler and set aside. Squeeze the juice into a mea­sur­ing cup. Top up with wa­ter to bring the liq­uid up to 125ml. Put this in a small saucepan with the su­gar and bring to the boil to dis­solve. Set aside to cool. For each drink, place a large ice cube in a glass and pour over 1-2 tea­spoons of or­ange syrup (to taste), the rum, Coin­treau and cof­fee and stir. Add

a twist of or­ange zest and serve.
