TO MARK 10 YEARS of his in­spir­ing, stan­dard­set­ting res­tau­rant, Michael Mered­ith and his tal­ented team have wel­comed a star-stud­ded line-up of friends into the Mered­iths kitchen in Auck­land over the past months, in­clud­ing Peter Gunn (Ides), Aaron Turner (Igni), Jeremy Rameka (Paci­fica) and Ben Shewry (At­tica). The Cui­sine team was priv­i­leged to co-host an ex­clu­sive Sun­day lunch with Mered­ith and Shewry on Septem­ber 24 at Mered­iths. As the clev­erly cu­rated menu unfolded, high­light­ing so many in­gre­di­ents that are the essence of New Zealand food, there was a bit­ter­sweet flavour in the air. Mered­ith re­cently an­nounced he will close the doors of Mered­iths in De­cem­ber to pur­sue new culi­nary ad­ven­tures. Thank you for the lessons, the in­spi­ra­tion and for tak­ing us to the world. We can’t wait to taste what Michael does next.
