High torque mo­tors from Maxon

The DCX range of ser­vo­mo­tors from Maxon has been joined by a 10mm mo­tor with a shorter length of 17mm. The mo­tor has an out­stand­ing power to den­sity ra­tio with over 1mNm and 1400mW.

It also fea­tures ex­tremely quiet oper­a­tion run­ning be­low 36dB. It is avail­able with stan­dard wind­ing volt­ages in­clud­ing 1.5V, 3V, 4.5V, 6V, 9V and 12V mak­ing it par­tic­u­larly suit­able for bat­tery driven ap­pli­ca­tions.

Con­versely, the firm’s 22mm x 47mm mo­tor has an in­dus­try leading power ca­pa­bil­ity of al­most 50 watts, rep­re­sent­ing power to weight gains over even larger di­am­e­ter Maxon DC mo­tors.

Again there are a large va­ri­ety of wind­ings avail­able. The stan­dard op­er­at­ing volt­ages are 6V, 9V, 12V, 18V, 24V, 36V and 48V DC. Maxon mo­tor ap­pli­ca­tion en­gi­neers can help you to con­fig­ure a speed per­fect for your task.

Both new mo­tors are cus­tomis­able to suit ro­bot­ics, med­i­cal and aero­space type ap­pli­ca­tions al­low­ing en­gi­neers to se­lect from dif­fer­ent brush types, bear­ing types, mount­ing f langes and even shaft di­men­sions. They are avail­able with var­i­ous en­coder res­o­lu­tions and gear­head ra­tios.

In par­tic­u­lar, the 22mm gear­head is now avail­able in two new for­mats in­clud­ing a ce­ramic plan­e­tary ver­sion and a low dB ver­sion.
