Multimillion-dollar contract for Kiwi tech
Milmeq, a leader in high-tech food processing systems, has won an AU$18 million contract to provide its technology to a beef processing plant.
The company will supply the Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) with all its processing equipment, including boning and slaughtering process equipment, refrigeration, air conditioning, chilling and freezing systems, along with operations for materials handling and palletising.
Milmeq has started working on the project that is expected to be completed by mid-to-late 2014.
Mike Lightfoot, Milmeq’s CEO, says the technology will put the new processing facility among the world’s leaders in moving to highly technological processes, which the company has developed in New Zealand.
