Leading the way in safety cul­ture

In­ver­cargill’s EIS Au­to­ma­tion and Elec­tri­cal won the ACC Work Place Safety Award at the West­pac South­land Busi­ness Ex­cel­lence Awards on Oc­to­ber 18. The firm has op­er­ated al­most 12 years with­out a lost time in­ci­dent.

The multi-dis­ci­plined project en­gi­neer­ing, in­stal­la­tion and main­te­nance com­pany op­er­ates in ar­eas such as process con­trol, au­to­ma­tion, com­pli­ance, safety sys­tems and in­dus­trial elec­tri­cal ser­vices.

EIS CEO Dean Ad­die be­lieves the award is the re­sult of good gov­er­nance, lead­er­ship, man­age­ment, em­pow­er­ment and team en­gage­ment.

The com­pany was also named Supreme Busi­ness of the Year, Busi­ness of the Year 15 FTE Plus, and was a fi­nal­ist in the Busi­ness Sus­tain­abil­ity cat­e­gory.

Head judge War­rick Low says: “EIS has ful­filled the idea of busi­ness ex­cel­lence, where ex­cel­lence and im­prove­ment are on­go­ing tar­gets for ev­ery el­e­ment of the or­gan­i­sa­tion.”
