WorkSafe NZ boss ready to march in

Gor­don MacDon­ald (pic­tured) will be­come CEO of WorkSafe NZ on 17 March. MacDon­ald has had a 35-year ca­reer with the UK’s Health and Safety Ex­ec­u­tive and is cur­rently its act­ing deputy chief ex­ec­u­tive, re­spon­si­ble for 2000 staff, and has been di­rec­tor of Haz­ardous In­stal­la­tions since 2009. WorkSafe NZ started op­er­a­tions in De­cem­ber last year, re­plac­ing the work­place health and safety op­er­a­tions of the Health and Safety group of the MBIE.
