BOC opens $75m industrial gas plant

DEMM Engineering & Manufacturing - - NEWS -

Gases and engineering company BOC has officially opened its state-of-the-art new gas plant in Glenbrook, securing a highly energy-efficient supply of gasses for New Zealand's industrial and medical sectors.

The investment in the Air Separation Unit (ASU) is underpinned by a long term industrial gas supply contract with New Zealand Steel that will be critical to the company's ongoing iron and steel making operations.

With an investment of approximately $75m in the plant and equipment by BOC, the project replaces its facility at the site, which had reached the end of its useful life.

Featuring increased production and storage capacity, the plant enhances reliability of supply and potential growth for New Zealand Steel.
