Cut stainless steel easy
Seco has released a high-feed (wiper) geometry that enables the high performance levels that have been available for other metals, but were difficult to attain when cutting stainless steels.
With the W-MF4 wiper geometry, manufacturers can increase surface finish quality, cycle times or both, depending on the priorities and demands of their specific application.
W-MF4 is available in Duratomic grades TM2000 and TM4000 and PVD-coated grade CP500.
TM2000 and TM4000 provide excellent turning performance in stainless steels through Duratomic coating technology. CP500 is a universal grade that achieves strong results across a wide variety of workpiece materials due its unique PVD coating.
The firm has also expanded the holemaking capabilities of its Crownloc Plus line of drills with the addition of two new geometries.
The latest M and L geometries bring added edge sharpness and chip control, respectively, to this exchangeable-tip drill family known for its strong wear resistance in a variety of materials.
The M geometry uses a free cutting drill point to minimise heat generation and achieve long, predictable tool life in challenging holemaking operations that involve hightemperature alloys, titanium, titanium alloys and stainless steel.
