WorkSafeNZ hits the road
The government’s WorkSafe New Zealand (WorkSafe NZ) is piloting a range of new assessment tools that will be used by its inspectors to support site visits.
WorkSafe NZ will be testing the tools at New Plymouth, Tauranga, and Auckland over a two-week period during June.
It will be focussing on the factors that produce significant harm within the manufacturing sector including; machine guarding, workplace transport, manual handling, personal protective equipment, house keeping, and clean air.
Although this is a testing exercise, WorkSafe NZ will be taking enforcement action where necessary.
