Spray and walk away
A company in China has used giant 3D printers to make single-storey houses.
WinSun used four 10m x 6.6m printers to spray a mixture of cement and recycled construction waste to build the walls, layer by layer – ‘building’ 10 houses of up to 200sqm each in Shanghai’s Qingpu district for under $ 5000 each.
The ten houses were built in less than 24 hours out of recycled materials.
The company plans to build an entire villa with their printer and will build 100 recycling facilities around China to help keep up with demand. China has also announced the first 3D printed house project will be located in Qingdao.
