Stain­less Steel equip­ment is prov­ing its worth in the food in­dus­try, both for per­for­mance and keep­ing hy­giene in check.

EQM will also be talk­ing about the im­por­tance of en­sur­ing that when de­sign of new plants or re­de­vel­op­ments are be­ing dis­cussed, so should the type of equip­ment, its place­ment and how to im­prove ef­fi­ciency when it comes to main­te­nance.

“The start­ing point for an equip­ment main­te­nance plan is well be­fore the equip­ment is ac­tu­ally in­stalled and work­ing.

“In many in­stances we’re asked to sup­ply a par­tic­u­lar drive or com­po­nent item and then this is matched up to a piece of equip­ment sup­plied by an­other provider.

“It is es­sen­tial to avoid any is­sues, by the equip­ment sup­plier and the project man­ager makes sure equip­ment sup­plied is suit­able as in some in­stances the equip­ment may not be de­signed to work to­gether in the first place.

“Ev­ery time we are asked to get in­volved at the plan­ning and de­sign stage, the out­comes are so much bet­ter. We can elim­i­nate un­nec­es­sary fu­ture main­te­nance, se­lect the op­ti­mum equip­ment and rec­om­mend the best com­po­nents and keep costs down both up-front and in the long run.
