The team at Universal Robots has released a new generation of their collaborative robots. New features include the addition of dual switchable safety modes, which mean the robot can be slowed down when a person enters its operating area.
Absolute positional encoders on all six joints mean there is no more time spent initialising the robot at startup. Additional inputs and outputs built in to the controllers reduce the requirement for installing a PLC.
The firm has also added conveyor tracking as standard with all new robots. These new features on the latest GEN III robots make it easier than ever to integrate a Universal Robot into production.
