Makinex pro­vides ma­te­ri­als han­dling with some back­bone

Work­place in­juries are an on­go­ing con­cern for a great num­ber on com­pa­nies where lift­ing is a core el­e­ment of their op­er­a­tion. Orig­i­nally de­signed for the hire and rental in­dus­try and re­cently in­tro­duced into New Zealand by Young­man Richard­son & Co Ltd the Makinex Pow­ered Hand Truck is re­port­ing a 50 per­cent re­duc­tion in lost time in­juries.

The Makinex PHT-140 is a safer and eas­ier al­ter­na­tive to load­ing with a fork­lift or tailgate loader and can be used just about any­where in­clud­ing work­shops, ware­houses, dis­tri­bu­tion cen­tres, fac­to­ries and hire and rental out­lets. Op­er­ated safely by one per­son the Makinex Pow­ered Hand Truck is able to pick up most equip­ment weigh­ing un­der 140kg and can load them into ve­hi­cles such as vans, pickup trucks and SUV’s or to place gear and small loads onto bench tops.

The unique de­sign of the Makinex PHT-140 fea­tures a bat­tery pow­ered lift that makes it very easy to op­er­ate. The user who can lift or lower the han­dles and arm height by way of a sim­ple thumb switch that con­trols the lift­ing arm reach. This elim­i­nates the awk­ward and po­ten­tially dan­ger­ous one and two per­son lifts and re­duces the in­ci­dence of back and shoul­der in­juries.

With­out at­tach­ments the Makinex PHT-140 weighs 40kg and is 2000mm in length, 740mm wide and 1930mm high. A ma­jor ben­e­fit is that it can be folded com­pletely flat for easy trans­port and stor­age. The Makinex can be used with ei­ther a hook or fork at­tach­ment with max­i­mum lifts heights of 1.9m and 1.55m re­spec­tively. The power for the lift is pro­vided via a 12V 25Amp lin­ear ac­tu­a­tor that af­ter only a three hour recharge gives ap­prox. 50 lift cy­cles per charge.
