The re­cent ac­qui­si­tion by Steel & Tube of Fortress Fas­ten­ers’ man­u­fac­turer, MSL is set to boost the ex­per­tise and spe­cial­ist knowl­edge of the coun­try’s big­gest steel dis­trib­u­tor and cre­ate knock-on ben­e­fits for cus­tomers.

The ac­qui­si­tion will see MSL’s ex­ten­sive prod­uct of­fer­ing ad­van­taged by S&T’s na­tion­wide net­work. The com­pany en­sures same-day de­liv­ery to vir­tu­ally ev­ery city in New Zealand.

MSL are stock­ists of more than 300 mil­lion im­pe­rial and met­ric-sized fas­ten­ers. Their range in­cludes mild steel and high ten­sile bolts and nuts, screws, threaded rod, wash­ers and rivets, socket prod­ucts cut­ting tools, ma­sonry an­chors, sealants and com­pounds, hose clamps, hand and air tools and ac­ces­sories.

The com­pany’s iconic Fortress brand which be­came a mar­ket leader af­ter its in­tro­duc­tion in 1997 is stocked by all ma­jor re­tail hard­ware chains.

MSL’s team of in­dus­trial ac­count man­agers pro­vide ex­pert knowl­edge and ad­vice to man­u­fac­tur­ers of fur­ni­ture, heavy ma­chin­ery and sport­ing goods as well as alu­minium join­t­ers, pre­nail framers and trussers and gen­eral en­gi­neers.

As New Zealand’s pre-em­i­nent fas­ten­ings busi­ness MSL will con­tinue to trade un­der its ex­ist­ing brand from its nine lo­ca­tions in Auck­land (Avon­dale and Al­bany), Hamil­ton, Mount Maun­ganui, Hast­ings, New Ply­mouth, Palmer­ston North, Welling­ton and Christchurch.
