You are en­cour­aged to par­tic­i­pate at MaD2018 (a Fea­tured Event within the Tech­week’18 Pro­gramme) to learn about ex­cit­ing, new man­u­fac­tur­ing and de­sign re­search; to be in­spired through ex­am­ples of pos­i­tive col­lab­o­ra­tions be­tween in­dus­try and re­searchers; and to hear from our high pro­file Key­note Speak­ers.

The MaD Net­work is a cross- dis­ci­plinary com­mu­nity of New Zealand re­searchers in man­u­fac­tur­ing and de­sign that works in close col­lab­o­ra­tion with in­dus­try to en­vi­sion and shape New Zealand’s fu­ture man­u­fac­tur­ing econ­omy. The MaD mis­sion is to de­velop ex­per­tise and ca­pa­bil­ity in trans­la­tional re­search, to grow New Zealand’s high-tech man­u­fac­tur­ing econ­omy. The MaD vi­sion is for New Zealand to be recog­nised as a lead­ing, tech­nol­ogy em­pow­ered econ­omy driven by in­no­va­tive, high-value, niche man­u­fac­tur­ing and de­sign.

MaD2018, a na­tional con­fer­ence, will foster a col­lab­o­ra­tive fu­ture for the New Zealand man­u­fac­tur­ing and de­sign in­dus­try as well as for the as­so­ci­ated re­search and devel­op­ment sec­tors. MaD2018 will pro­vide a plat­form to en­hance the com­pet­i­tive ad­van­tage of MaD in­dus­try part­ners through ef­fec­tive col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween re­searchers and com­pa­nies.

En­gag­ing, short TED-Talk-Type pre­sen­ta­tions from re­searchers, in­dus­try and govern­ment rep­re­sen­ta­tives will en­able pro­duc­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion be­tween del­e­gates from dif­fer­ent back­grounds. In ad­di­tion, MaD2018 will show­case re­search work by way of Poster pre­sen­ta­tions, to be dis­played in the ex­hi­bi­tion and net­work­ing area; lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional Key­note Speak­ers will set the tone; Panel Dis­cus­sions will pro­vide topic spe­cific en­gage­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties; and our tick­eted MaD2018 Con­fer­ence Din­ner will be our gala event on Mon­day 21 May 2018. There will also be ex­cel­lent in­for­mal and fa­cil­i­tated net­work­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties. Con­fer­ence Dates:
