Desiree Whitaker and her team at Cardrona Dis­tillery have cre­ated a unique sin­gle malt vodka, and it’s fast be­com­ing a favourite. Dubbed “The Reid:, at 44% abv and di­a­mond-bright, it’s made us­ing malted bar­ley, pure Cardrona alpine wa­ter, dis­tillers yeast and a whole heap of skill. Fer­mented for 72 hours, then dis­tilled through their 7.5-me­tre Ger­man col­umn still, the re­sult is a pure, min­eral-driven spirit en­closed in the faintest cloak of smoke. Glo­ri­ous stuff.
