Lychee and Lemongrass Saketini
A subtle sweet taste of lychee and zing of lemongrass lift this sake version of a martini to uniquely wonderful heights.
Lychee and lemongrass syrup syrup drained from a 550-gram
tin of lychee 1 stick of lemongrass, plus extra
to garnish For the drink 4 tablespoons lychee and
lemongrass syrup 3 tablespoons Zenkuro Original Sake 2 tablespoons vodka lychee fruit, to garnish
Bash the lemongrass stick with a pestle or rolling pin to release its flavour and add to a small saucepan with the drained lychee syrup. Heat gently until simmering. Let simmer for several minutes. Leave to cool. Strain out the lemongrass.
Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then add the lychee and lemongrass syrup, sake and vodka. Shake until the shaker is icy cold. Strain into a cold martini glass. Thread a lychee fruit on a skewer to garnish. Makes 2
