FROM THE EDITOR
My name is Mandy Te and I recently joined the Auckland communities reporting team.
My family is originally from Cambodia and moved to New Zealand more than two decades ago. I’ve lived in Auckland most of my life, moving from Hamilton and before that, Wellington. I’ve also lived in Dunedin, where I went to university.
I first became passionate about journalism volunteering at the University of Otago student publication Critic. The experience gave me opportunities to interview people and write features on topics I was interested in. Last year I graduated with a postgraduate diploma in journalism from AUT.
I enjoy cooking, puns and exploring Auckland’s food scene. I also like listening to hip hop, especially Drake and seeing cows grazing at One Tree Hill. The rounds I will be covering are health and Maungakiekie-tamaki Local Board.
