Badminton: doubles play for two hours, just $5. Tramping clubs happen all over the city, from the Waitakere Ranges in the west to Rangitoto Island in the harbour. There is the Hilary Trail Runners group, the Auckland Tramping Club and the Manukau Tramping Club just to name a few. Just search for your nearest tramping club on Facebook.

Locations include Mission Bay, Victoria Park in the city and Cornwall Park. While yoga is one of the more trendy and expensive workout trends, there are lots of ways to get in on the buzz without draining your purse. Clothing store Lululemon holds free classes in Takapuna on Sundays. Golden Yogi also has free community yoga classes every Sunday from 8.30am.
