The Bar­foot and Thomp­son Auck­land Cup Day at Eller­slie Race­course is to­mor­row, March

11, fea­tur­ing three Group One horse races with a com­bined stake of more than $1 mil­lion in prize money. Gen­eral ad­mis­sion of­fers front row view­ing of the rac­ing ac­tion and ac­cess to bars, grand­stand seat­ing, and the bet­ting fa­cil­i­ties of the Eller­slie Stand. Pun­ters can en­joy the out­doors by tak­ing nib­bles and unopened non-al­co­holic drinks, and set up their own pic­nic ta­bles. At­ten­dees can also choose to go to the Mum­mRac­ing Vil­lage, set on the Cham­pagne Lawn, to en­joy the sweep­ing views of the main straight and win­ning post with cham­pagne in hand. Live en­ter­tain­ment is de­liv­ered by the elec­tric duo Jupiter Pro­ject, while gourmet food catered by The Kitchen, of Sky City, will be pro­vided there. The iconic Auck­land event puts on some of the best en­ter­tain­ment in town, with thrilling thor­ough­bred rac­ing and hos­pi­tal­ity op­tions for the fam­ily. Gates open at 10.30am on Satur­day, with the first race at 12.20pm, and gates close at 9pm. Gen­eral ad­mis­sion costs $15, and en­try for the Mum­mRac­ing Vil­lage is $175.
