AUCKLAND CUP RETURNS
The Barfoot and Thompson Auckland Cup Day at Ellerslie Racecourse is tomorrow, March
11, featuring three Group One horse races with a combined stake of more than $1 million in prize money. General admission offers front row viewing of the racing action and access to bars, grandstand seating, and the betting facilities of the Ellerslie Stand. Punters can enjoy the outdoors by taking nibbles and unopened non-alcoholic drinks, and set up their own picnic tables. Attendees can also choose to go to the MummRacing Village, set on the Champagne Lawn, to enjoy the sweeping views of the main straight and winning post with champagne in hand. Live entertainment is delivered by the electric duo Jupiter Project, while gourmet food catered by The Kitchen, of Sky City, will be provided there. The iconic Auckland event puts on some of the best entertainment in town, with thrilling thoroughbred racing and hospitality options for the family. Gates open at 10.30am on Saturday, with the first race at 12.20pm, and gates close at 9pm. General admission costs $15, and entry for the MummRacing Village is $175.
