Golfers swing­ing in to sup­port Life Ed­u­ca­tion


Life Ed­u­ca­tion Coun­ties Manukau’s an­nual char­ity golf day is at Pukekohe Golf Club on next Mon­day.

Harold the Gi­raffe and his golflov­ing sup­port­ers will be fundrais­ing to en­able the char­ity to con­tinue its pre­ven­ta­tive health mes­sages in more than 20 pri­mary and in­ter­me­di­ate schools in the eastern sub­urbs.

Am­brose golf in teams of four will be played af­ter a bar­be­cue break­fast. Play­ers will then head to the club­house for lunch, a guest speaker and auc­tion.

‘‘The con­tin­ued sup­port we re­ceive from lo­cal busi­nesses ev­ery year, whether buy­ing a team, spon­sor­ing a golf hole or do­nat­ing prizes, is amaz­ing,’’ Life Ed­u­ca­tion gen­eral man­ager Michelle Kidd says.

‘‘With new peo­ple get­ting in­volved, we’re able to grow this worth­while an­nual com­mu­nity event.’’

Life Ed­u­ca­tion has been teaching chil­dren to make healthy choices and live life to the fullest for al­most 30 years.

Kidd says these types of events help en­sure Life Ed­u­ca­tion’s mo­bile class­rooms can con­tinue to meet an ever-in­creas­ing de­mand.
