Eastern Courier - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

This year’s Neighbours Day Aotearoa takes place this weekend, with a local event being at St Andrews Howick Presbyterian Church, corner Vincent Street and Ridge Road, from 11am to 1pm on Sunday, with activities such as facepainting, a bouncy castle, candyfloss, and sausage sizzle. Following this month’s wild weather, Auckland councillor Sharon Stewart says Neighbours Day is a great chance to get to know other local residents, and in case of an emergency. ’’When disasters happen, neighbourhoods can get cut off and you may find yourself having to rely on the people around you to survive. The last fortnight has driven this home for us all.’’
