Win tickets to 1950s show
Attend a rock and roll concert that steps back in time.
Operatunity’s Fabulous 50s concert on October 11 will take viewers on a musical trip back to the 1950s.
Well-known songs by Elvis Presley, the Everly Brothers and Bill Haley and the Comets will be brought back to life at St Columba Church in Botany.
And your Eastern Courier has
ticket double pass to win
Kiwi music legend Suzanne Lynch leads the performance
troupe and band in the roll back of the calendar, when she sings tunes made famous by Doris Day and Connie Francis.
Former Peking Man frontman Pat Urlich will be singing popular Elvis numbers, complete with the unforgettable gyrating hips and moves, while Karl Perigo will croon melodies from the likes of the Everly Brothers, hoping to make the audience swoon.
Operatunity’s Claire Mitchell says viewers can ‘‘relive the romance and the fun of when vocals met harmonies’’.
‘‘The band will rock and roll the audience and the singing trio will join together with songs of tight harmonies and toe-tapping rhythms.
‘‘Bring your dancing shoes,’’ she advises.
Tickets are $34 and include a light lunch with the artists after the show. To book, free call 0508 266 237 or visit www.operatunity.co.nz.
