Interest in world cup’s steadily building

Eastern Courier - - OUT & ABOUT -

Tonga rounding it out. Speaking of Tonga, there was plenty of commotion when many players turned down the chance to play for the Kiwis in favour of representing Tonga.

The Kiwis v Tonga match is on in Hamilton, and tickets are flying out the door, with one Tongan church group from Auckland buying 200 tickets alone. So if you’re hoping to get along to see a game that’s going to have plenty riding on it, you best get hold of a ticket as soon as you can.

The smartest thing you can do if you want to be at the Kiwis v Samoa opener at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday, October 28, at 8pm, is to attend The Kiwis Lunch the day before at Ellerslie Events Centre.

Tickets are $100, but as well as drinks, a buffet lunch, and the chance to mix and mingle with the more than 50 Kiwis who have indicated they will be there, that also includes a match ticket for Mt Smart.

We have a family pass for a fortunate Eastern Courier reader to win and go to the Rugby League World Cup match between the NZ Kiwis and Samoa on October 28. The tickets are made available courtesy of RLWC Chief Ambassador Sir Peter Leitch. To enter, email with your name, phone number and postal address by October 23.

The versatile Thomas Leuluai is set to feature for the Kiwis in the upcoming Rugby League World Cup.
