‘‘The path is there for them to use and it’s nice to see, and that’s the rea­son I did it,’’ he says humbly.

How­ever, Bain says that he has only tack­led a small part of the prob­lem.

‘‘The whole idea is that coun­cil should go around and spray it while it’s down. There’s still a lot more to do.’’

The busi­ness con­sul­tant brings his own per­spec­tive to the is­sue.

‘‘From my stand­point, we are a cus­tomer and the cus­tomer’s needs have not been met at all.

‘‘You’re de­valu­ing the prop­erty val­ues but you’re also de­valu­ing the qual­ity of life. Peo­ple get out to ex­er­cise, peo­ple get out to en­joy the en­vi­ron­ment, but it sucks,’’ he says frus­trat­ingly.
