How could your choice of table spread help save her from extinction?

The main ingredient in most table spreads is vegetable oil. However, the source of vegetable oil is generally composed largely of palm oil – something that you won’t often see listed in the ingredients. Palm oil is usually sourced from unsustainable resources, most commonly in Indonesia and Malaysia. Because of this, palm oil harvesting is linked to the destruction of the environment and the related eco-systems in these areas. That’s why the decline in numbers of the native Orangutan has been connected to palm oil harvesting. Alfa One Rice Bran Oil Spread, on the other hand, is made solely from rice bran oil which contains no palm oil. Only the emulsifier in Alfa One, which makes up less than than 1 percent of the total product, is currently sourced from palm oil – and our aim is to eliminate this from our emulsifier altogether. So choose the table spread made from rice bran oil, the most sustainable oil available.
