In Canada, green walls are now finding their way into hospitals — however, as well as improving indoor air quality, gardens that scale outside walls are increasingly appearing in dense cities with little greenspace. Greenwall is currently working on covering the entire outer shell of a large building in Kuala Lumpur in order to reintroduce the natural habitat of native butter ies to the city. Edible landscapes and vertical farms are yet another application. In LA’s Skid Row, Urban Farming created the “Food Chain” pilot project, which can grow 4,000 plants hanging on four neighbourhood walls.
