The life and times of an organic chicken

One of the key differences between a conventional chicken and the chickens ns at Kipdale Farms is that Harold does not t present them with a 24-hour easyreach of high-energy food. Instead they are provided with regular meals of certified organic feed made up of wheat, soya, maize and barley that is free of animal products, antibiotics and chemicals. In between meals they y are encouraged to roam the paddocks s tucking into green grass and any unfortunate insects they can hunt down. Harold says: “The air is fresh, there isn’t manure where they sit all day and they have a bit of warmth when it is cold. Basically, if you would be relatively happy in their environment, so will they.”
