The good packaging company

Element - - Environment -

Founded by enviropreneur Grant Hall, the Good Packaging Company now belongs to Charlies, who saw the opportunity it represents. Good Packaging Company bottles are made from plant matter, and decompose under

conditions of heat and humidity. While the technology exists at the Visy recycling plant to separate these

bottles from the other standard plastics, there is no financial incentive to do so as the volumes are still too small. Instead they are bundled up with

the rest and shipped to China for recycling. In its current form, this material cannot be used to package effervescent drinks as the gas escapes, but large companies such as

Coca Cola and Pepsi are working on this technology. Let’s hope the Good Packaging Company gets there first.
