Down and out with excessive packaging!
More than 2,000 votes have been received in New Zealand’s Unpackit Packaging Awards to find the country’s best and worst packaging. Organisers Wanaka Wastebusters are aiming for 10,000, and are running a competition for schools and community groups. “Schools and community groups really help spread the word about the Awards, and it’s great to give them something back,” said Unpackit spokesperson Sophie Ward. A $1000 prize will go to the school and the not-for-profit group who send the most voters to unpackit.org. Plus all registered schools and community groups will receive 20 cents each time they’re chosen by a voter.
