The Live Be­low the Line Chal­lenge is get­ting hun­dreds of ki­wis signed up to ex­pe­ri­ence ex­treme poverty by liv­ing for just $2.25 a day for five days in Septem­ber – bring­ing to life the di­rect ex­pe­ri­ences of the 1.4 bil­lion peo­ple world­wide cur­rently liv­ing on that sum for all their needs. “We’re thrilled to see the en­thu­si­asm for this chal­lenge,” says Will Watterson, NZ coun­try di­rec­tor (pic­tured) for the Global Poverty Project which co­or­di­nates the na­tion­wide event. “We’re get­ting lots of in­ter­est from all walks of life, from students, to community lead­ers and sev­eral Mem­bers of Par­lia­ment.” Take part in Live Be­low the Line Chal­lenge - sign up at live­be­lowthe­line.com/nz The chal­lenge runs from the 24th – 28th of Septem­ber, and it's more fun, and prob­a­bly must tastier, if done with friends...
