Pink ® Batts ® Insulation makes green promise

Pink ® Batts ® insulation has been an integral part of the New Zealand building industry for more than 50 years. And as a responsible insulation company, we accept that our processes and activities do have an impact on our environment. As part of our approach to addressing this we have invested in a new electric glass melter, which is about four times more efficient than the previous gas-fired melter, and introduced energy efficient lighting in all of our buildings.

We have also successfully gained a number of independent and internationally recognised certifications on the safety, environmental responsibility and health benefits of our products, including the government-backed Environmental Choice certification.

But we know also sustainability is not a destination, it is a journey of continuous improvement. That’s why we have also conducted a full Life Cycle Assessment (see below) of our production methods to help benchmark our impact on the environment and where we can improve. And we have set some ambitious initiatives to reduce this year on year.

This long standing history, local expertise and commitment to sustainability means our insulation products are specifically designed for how Kiwi’s build their homes today, and to maximise our well-being long into the future.

Insulation is the most cost-effective solution for saving CO²
