It’s a re­ally good idea to or­gan­ise some sim­ple tools be­fore get­ting started to avoid un­nec­es­sary mess and max­imise your health and safety while do­ing the job.

• Pro­tec­tive loose fit­ting, long-sleeved cloth­ing – over­alls are good

• Dust mask

• Safety glasses

• Rub­ber faced gloves (gar­den­ing/dish­wash­ing gloves)

• Rub­ber soled footwear

• Step lad­der

• At least 2 wooden planks around 1.2m long

• Lamp and ex­ten­sion cord (15m long)

• Knife (Kraft/Stan­ley knife)

• Cut­ting board and straight edge

• In­stall rod (25mm di­am­e­ter, 1m long) for tight spa­ces – a broom stick han­dle would work well
