Half car, half battery-powered toy, the Hiriko Fold is a tiny electric vehicle that might end up a common sight around our cities in the not-too-distant future.
The Hiriko Fold is a fully electric vehicle which is able to fold itself into a more compact shape in order to squeeze into the tightest of parking spaces.
Concept has been turned into reality, with the first prototype having been built and plans underway for it to be on the market at around $20,000 as early as next year. The Fold will purr along for 120 kilometres on a full charge, and is just 2.5 metres long when unfolded, but push a button and it halves in length, allowing three cars to fit into a standard space.
