Power up your business with advice from sustainability experts.
Auckland companies can get a sustainability edge at the ‘business only’ afternoon at the Sustainable City Showcase on Thursday, November 22. Ten expert-led Sustainable Business Power Sessions will provide lunchtime-friendly 30-minute opportunities for businesses to up-skill on sustainability as it applies to financial, social, human and environmental aspects of business life. Companies can send their executives to one or more of the sessions between 12:30 and 4pm and take away knowledge that will inform their response to sustainability’s growing influence on business today as conscious consumerism impacts on all our activities. Learn how to apply sustainability principles and understand the numbers in your lunch hour or afternoon break. There’s no need to book, simply show up. Entry is by koha.
The business engagement day at the Sustainable City Showcase culminates in the NZI National Sustainable Business Awards. The awards event begins at 6pm and will be a night of celebration and entertainment, with MC Te Radar contributing his sharp wit to the evening. The awards include the winner of the Vodafone People’s Choice, Element’s Sustainability Champion, NZ Post Social Innovation and AUT Sustainable Design and Innovation awards. National winners will be chosen from the winners of the regional categories in the Sustainable Business Network awards. Companies and organisations vying for a national award include Meridian Energy, Villa Maria Estate, and Unitec. Those attending the award event have a great opportunity to network with sustainability movers and shakers. George FM will be powering up the music with their top DJs on stage and sustainable food and wine will flow throughout the evening.
