The benefits of green commercial buildings to business have been quantified with the recent release of the first Green Property Investment Index. The Property Council of New Zealand/IPD NZ Green Property Investment Index highlighted the clear performance benefits across all measures for property owners with Green Star-rated buildings. “This type of evidence is backing up what we have seen anecdotally – that Green Star-rated assets are outperforming non-rated buildings and challenging the definition of what a prime asset is,” said New Zealand Green Building Council CEO, Alex Cutler. The appetite for efficient buildings for office space is in clear evidence with the tenancy of the awardwinning Geyser Building in Parnell, Auckland, with businesses FFA Ltd, DNS Forest Products, NZ Racing Board, TW Parnell, Foundry Asset Management and Serco NZ having taken up residence.
