Last month Element launched Gamer Changers, a fascinating series of speed talks from the most interesting people in the magazine’s orbit. From this month we are putting them on the Element website, kicking off with the inimitable Tony Watkins. For more than forty years Tony Watkins has been concerned about the way in which a healthy built environment can contribute both to the health of the planet and to our own health. Tony is an architect, an urban designer and a planner. Much of his work has been at an international level, but he has lectured for many years at the University of Auckland. Neither of his two homes – one at Karaka Bay, another in Northland, have road access, the latter being an hour’s walk from the nearest road. His book “The Human House” sets out his philosophy.
