When Shiseido wanted to create a new line of makeup, the company asked French creative director Serge

Lutens to help design something special.

Intrigued by the aesthetics and culture of Japan, Lutens wanted packaging inspired by imagery of Japanese lacquerware. Even the name, Moisture Mist, was intended to evoke a mental image of a classic Japanese landscape, like a painting that has come to life.

Moisture Mist soon became Shiseido’s international flagship makeup line, but it was in New Zealand that the brand really found a home. The key to Moisture Mist’s success in New Zealand was that it was an international-quality brand that came in shades and a texture tailored for our skin types. Moisture Mist products have become uniquely New Zealand and make Kiwi women feel special.

Past, present and future wearers recognise the scarlet packaging of Moisture Mist and know it’s a quality, classic beauty essential – a must-have in everyone’s makeup bag. We asked three generations of women to try the new Moisture Mist Gentle Cleansing Oil and tell us what they thought.

Fresh, clean and soft

“I have never used an oil to cleanse my skin before, but this one is a keeper!” said Jess, 33, after using the Gentle Cleansing Oil, “I’m so glad I discovered it.”

As someone with breakout-prone skin, Jess said the new Moisture Mist Gentle Cleansing Oil was perfect, leaving her skin

“It’s such a beautiful, light oil that leaves skin feeling

fresh.”

feeling clean and soft. “It has a smooth, light texture and a little goes a long way,” she said.

Her mother Bev is in her 50s and enjoyed using the Moisture Mist products. Having experimented with all sorts of cleansers and toners in her 30s, Bev loved the results. “The Gentle Cleansing Oil is just as its name suggests – gentle,” she said. “Even though it was light in texture, it still removed my makeup and left my face feeling clean and lightly moisturised.”

Bev’s mother Hilda, 88, had never tried a cleansing oil before, “but I will be using it more as it left my skin feeling clean and smooth”. Hilda loved the Moisture Mist CC Cream too. “The CC cream helped cover skin imperfections and the BB cream was good for moisturising, sun block, and giving my skin a touch of colour.”

The Moisture Mist range

Alongside the new Gentle Cleansing Oil and its cult classic, the Beauty Cake foundation, Moisture Mist offers a full range of makeup and skincare.

The range includes the popular BB Cream and CC Cream SPF30 in Neutralising and Brightening options. The lightweight creams blend smoothly to match your skin tone, neutralising redness and brightening dull skin for a healthy, natural and even skin tone.

These multitasking, colour-correcting CC creams can be worn alone or under foundation as a primer, working to conceal, prime, protect and moisturise for a brighter, flawless complexion.
