When Shiseido wanted to create a new line of makeup, the company asked French creative director Serge

Lutens to help design something special.

Intrigued by the aesthetics and culture of Japan, Lutens wanted packaging inspired by imagery of Japanese lacquerwar­e. Even the name, Moisture Mist, was intended to evoke a mental image of a classic Japanese landscape, like a painting that has come to life.

Moisture Mist soon became Shiseido’s internatio­nal flagship makeup line, but it was in New Zealand that the brand really found a home. The key to Moisture Mist’s success in New Zealand was that it was an internatio­nal-quality brand that came in shades and a texture tailored for our skin types. Moisture Mist products have become uniquely New Zealand and make Kiwi women feel special.

Her mother Bev is in her 50s and enjoyed using the Moisture Mist products. Bev’s mother Hilda, 88, had never tried a cleansing oil before, “but I will be using it more as it left my skin feeling clean and smooth”.
