Stocks sales around the region

Feilding-Rangitikei Herald - - Rural -

8 well marked and forward Friesian bulls for $1345 ($2.82). A handful of weaner bulls were also sold.

Older heifers are not coming forward in large numbers which shouldn’t surprise as, given the feed levels around, most would be just finishing those cattle themselves. 12 useful Hereford/Friesians two year heifers from K Harding & Co, Woodville, made $1350 ($2.76). Of interest in the yearling heifer section was the way the market strengthened as it went along with lighter cut heifers almost making as much as their heavier sisters and certainly more cents/kg.

The sale was notable for the absence of PGGW agent Tim Paterson who, after 47 years in the industry, has drawn stumps and retired to the Lake and the golf course.
