DISTRICT PLAN REVIEW

Funding of $500,000 to enable a district plan review to continue into next year has been given the all-go by the Manawatu District Council. The council is forced to review the district plan every 10 years under the Resource Management Act 1991. This will be funded by rates but spent over 10 years to reduce the impact. The net increase on rates for the 2017/2018 year is $50,000 and each subsequent year for the next 10 years.
