Dream for netball club

- SAM KILMISTER

Players from the Feilding Netball Club are roaming the courts with a fresh, new look.

The club received an ANZ Netball Dream Delivery, including new tops, skirts, bibs, gear bags and balls.

The club had recently grown to four teams and struggled to provide uniforms for each player.

Player Jessica Brett said the delivery gave the club a renewed outlook towards the back end of the season.

‘‘Our club has produced several national and international stars and we’ve had Silver Fern coaches play and coach our players.

‘‘Our dream is to lift the game of our younger teams and make sure our future generation of netball stars are kitted out how they deserve.’’

The town’s netball club is the second Feilding sports outfit to receive the dream package this year after the premier two men’s team were also rescued with new kit in January.

ANZ head of sponsorship Sue McGregor said the initiative helped sportspeople across New Zealand to take their sport to the next level.

‘‘We’re glad to be able to help a club with such a strong 50-year sporting history. Providing the next generation of Feilding netball players with new uniforms will ensure they feel their best - we might see them at the ANZ Premiership.’’
